Fishing The Surf With Light Tackle     In the past surf fishing has been mostly associated with long fishing rods, heavy line and sinkers, more and more surf fisherman are using light tackle and plastic grubs. When fishing this way most of your fishing will be done in the more turbulent areas of the surf where fish congregate to feed on bait stirred up by the surf. Try a seven to eight foot rod with a spinning reel filled with 6 to 8 pound test. Most fish you catch this way are pearch but you may catch anything from halibut to croaker.
