Improved Blood Knot   

This is an excellent knot for joining two lines of equal or different sizes. For big game fishing this is an excellent knot for tying light line to a much heavier leader. When using the lighter line simply fold it back so it’s doubled and tie the knot.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             FIG 1. Wrap the doubled five times around the larger diameter line and bring back between the two strands.                                                                                                                                                                                                          FIG 2. Twist the larger diameter line around the doubled line three times, and place the free end through the loop in the opposite direction.
